Senior Lawyers (Administrative and Legislation Law) – Baseline Clearance
Initial 6 month secondments with the possibility of extension/s
The Roles
We currently have opportunities within multiple Commonwealth Agencies that are seeking experienced Administrative/Legislation Lawyers to join the Agencies respective legal teams on secondment for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of extension.
Our clients are seeking to engage candidates that have the capability to assist with providing advice on a range of practice areas including corporate, governance, legislative development and policy.
The Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be required to work as asecondee within the Commonwealth clients’ in-house legal teams.
Some (or a combination) of the responsibilities will requirethe successful candidates to support the delivery, implementation andamendments of Bill(s) including:
- provide strategic, high quality legal advice;
- contribute to legislative development projects including instructing drafters;
- extensive engagement with internal and external stakeholders;
- advice on policy goals including on amendments to WHS laws and WHS compensation legislation;
- second counsel the work of junior lawyers; and
- review policies and procedures to ensure legal accuracy and compliance
The Requirements
A current practising certificate (or the ability to obtain one), and experience advising on Commonwealth administrative law, legislative development are essential with experience in WHS policy and compensation legislation matters being desirable.
A Baseline security clearance would be highly regarded.
