Privacy Lawyer - Baseline Clearance
3 month secondment plus extension
The Role
Our client is seeking a Information Lawyer to support teams within a high profile Commonwealth department to assisting with implementing best practice with regard to privacy and Freedom of Information processes.
The Responsibilities
The position requires the successful candidate to providelegal advice on the following areas:
- Freedom of Information;
- privacy law; and
- information law more generally.
The Requirements
The successful candidate must have outstanding stakeholderengagement, coordination and analysis skills with a demonstrated ability towork independently and collaboratively within a small team environment, with afocus on quality service delivery to internal clients across a range ofmatters.
Candidates will need to be familiar with the Freedom ofInformation Act 1982 (Cth), Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the AustralianPrivacy Principles, and be experienced and comfortable with conducting reviewsof projects involving personal information.
Legal qualifications, a current practicing certificate and aBaseline Clearance are essential.
